Biography
Gary M. Carter, Jr. is a Democratic State Senator representing Louisiana Senate District 7, which encompasses portions of Jefferson, Orleans, and Plaquemines parishes. Born in November 1974, Carter was elected to the Louisiana State Senate in 2021 and is eligible to serve through the end of the 2028-2032 term. He represents the New Orleans metropolitan area and brings a legal background to his legislative work.
