Gale Mastrofrancesco

Gale Lanza Mastrofrancesco was born on October 25, 1960, in Waterbury, Connecticut. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Marie Lanza and was raised in Waterbury along with five siblings. Her mother, Marie Lanza, served on the Waterbury Board of Education for sixteen years, which inspired Gale's commitment to public service. She has been married to her husband Angelo Mastrofrancesco for 37 years and moved to Wolcott in 1996 to raise their two children.

Prior to her legislative career, Mastrofrancesco worked as a sales manager for AT&T Advertising and served as Director of Community Relations for Benchmark Senior Living at The Village at Kensington Place in Meriden.

Political Experience

Mastrofrancesco is a Republican who began her public service at the local level. In 2009, she was elected to the Wolcott Town Council, where she served as Vice-Chairwoman for seven years. During her tenure on the Town Council, she also chaired the Town Negotiations Committee and served on the Finance Committee.

She was elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in 2018, representing the 80th General Assembly District, which comprises Wolcott and part of Southington. She assumed office in 2019 and has been reelected three times, most recently winning reelection in November 2024 to her fourth term.

In the state legislature, Mastrofrancesco serves as Assistant House Republican Leader. She holds the position of Ranking Member of the Government Administration and Elections Committee and is a member of the Children, Labor and Human Services committees.
