Biography

Fredrick J. Love is a Democratic state senator representing District 15 in the Arkansas Senate, which includes parts of Little Rock and Pulaski County. Elected to the Senate in 2022 and sworn in on January 9, 2023, he previously served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011 to 2022, representing Districts 35 and 29, where he was Democratic Minority Leader from 2019 to 2021 and a member of key committees including the Joint Budget Committee. Currently, he serves as Senate Minority Whip in the 95th General Assembly, Vice-Chair of the Joint Public Retirement & Social Security Programs Committee and the Senate Rules, Resolutions & Memorials Committee, and holds positions on committees such as Public Health, Welfare and Labor; Transportation, Technology & Legislative Affairs; and Legislative Joint Auditing. Notable achievements include his leadership roles, professional service as Director of Community Services for Pulaski County, board membership with Women and Children First, and involvement with the Arkansas Legislative Black Caucus and Prince Hall Masons. In 2026, he won the Democratic nomination for Governor of Arkansas.
