Biography
John Franklin "Frank" Sossamon is a Republican politician from Henderson, North Carolina. He served as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives for District 32 from January 2023 to January 2025. Elected in 2022 as the district's first Republican representative, he lost his 2024 re-election bid to Democrat Bryan Cohn but announced a comeback campaign for the 2026 midterms. Sossamon is a former pastor, funeral home owner, and community leader, married to Vickie with three children. Notable achievements include leading the "Faith in Mental Health" initiative post-legislature and 40 years on Vance County’s Juvenile Crime Prevention Council. His 2026 priorities emphasize protecting Medicaid, funding education, supporting agriculture, and expanding mental health services.
