Biography
Frank J. Smith is a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 118th District . A lifelong resident of Milford's West Shore area, he was first elected to the state House in 2020, defeating Republican Erik Smith, and was re-elected in 2022. He previously served as a Milford City Council alderman for District 3 from 1998-2001 and 2011-2021, including as Ordinance Committee Chairman and aldermanic liaison to the Milford Public Library. Smith has also served on Milford's Inland Wetland Agency, Council on Aging, and Senior Center Building Committee, as well as the Wheelchair Repair Task Force. Currently, he is Assistant Majority Leader, vice chair of the Housing Committee, and a member of the Environment, Education, and Transportation Committees. He lives in Milford's Laurel Beach neighborhood with his wife Diane, five children, five grandchildren, and dog Rocky.
