Frank Iler , born January 10, 1942, is a Republican representing District 17 in the North Carolina House of Representatives, covering Brunswick County. A retired businessman and lifelong resident of Brunswick County for over 25 years, he was appointed to the House in 2009 following Bonner Stiller's resignation and has served 8.5 terms as of the 2025-2026 session. He lives near Calabash, previously in Oak Island, and is an Eagle Scout with family members sharing the honor. Notable achievements include helping close a $3 billion budget deficit, building a $4 billion rainy-day fund, controlling government spending, and supporting teacher pay raises that elevated North Carolina's average teacher salary above $50,000. He holds key leadership roles such as Chair of the N.C. House Transportation Committee, Chair of the Transportation Appropriations Committee, Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee, and member of the N.C. Travel and Tourism Board.
