Biography

Frank A. Ciccone III is a Democratic member of the Rhode Island State Senate representing District 7 since January 2005, following an initial term in District 3 from 2003 to 2005. Born on October 10, 1947, in Providence, Rhode Island, he was elected Senate Majority Leader in April 2025 and previously served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labor. Notable achievements include sponsoring the Forest Conservation Act , the Dignity at Work Act to prevent workplace bullying, minimum wage increases, protections for medical marijuana users, and expansions in education like biliteracy seals and dual language programs. He has one daughter, Carla, and has been involved in labor unions, serving as Business Manager for Rhode Island Judicial, Professional, and Technical Employees Local Union 808, and as National Commander of the Italian-American War Veterans. He also served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard.
