Biography
Frank Burns is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 72nd District in southwestern Cambria County. A conservative Democrat, he is noted for his narrow 2024 reelection victory over Amy Bradley in a Trump-supporting district, which contributed to Democrats gaining a majority in the chamber. He has secured over $200 million in grants for local projects, including water systems, sewers, parks, and beautification efforts.
Education and Political Experience
Burns previously served as a township supervisor for East Taylor Township and as a Cambria County representative to the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee. He currently serves on the Consumer Affairs, Professional Licensure, Tourism & Recreational Development, and Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness committees. Notable achievements include sponsoring a law for in-state tuition for children of military families redeployed from Pennsylvania and supporting budget deals for public education funding and utility consumer protections. He opposes abortion rights, LGBTQ nondiscrimination protections, and universal firearm background checks, while backing economic populism and labor rights.
