Biography
Francis C. Thompson is a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 19, which includes the parishes of East Carroll, Madison, Morehouse, Richland, and West Carroll. Elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023 with 78% of the vote, he is eligible to serve through 2028 and resides in Delhi, Louisiana. A retired college professor, Thompson serves on key committees including Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture, and Rural Development; Appropriations; and the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget. He is also part of the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation, Louisiana Rural Caucus, and North Louisiana Legislative Delegation.
Notable achievements and positions include a 100% Pro-Life voting record with Louisiana Right to Life in 2023, support for constitutional carry , criminal justice reforms , and opposition to certain carbon capture projects .
