Biography
Frances Vinell Jackson is a Democratic member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 45 since January 1, 2023. A Fayetteville native, she previously ran unsuccessfully for the seat in 2020 and works as an educator and adjunct professor. Her legislative priorities include economic development, education, healthcare access, transportation, and workforce development; she serves on committees such as Appropriations, Appropriations - Capital, Military and Veterans Affairs, State Government, and Transportation.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Transportation and Economics from North Carolina A&T State University; Master of Arts in Political Science from Fayetteville State University; PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University.
- Professional Experience: Former middle school teacher, adjunct professor, transit planner, transportation and community planner for Cumberland County, and transit analyst for the City of Fayetteville.
- Political Experience: Elected to NC House District 45 in 2022 ; running for re-election in 2024.
