Biography
Senator Forrest Dunbar is a Democrat representing District J in the Alaska State Senate, serving since 2023. A lifelong Alaskan born in Eagle on the Yukon River and raised in Cordova on Prince William Sound, he is 40 years old, married to Tasha Boyer, and works as an Army National Guard Major and attorney. Notable achievements include sponsoring legislation to increase scholarships for university and trade school students, provide tax incentives for housing construction, and protect peer counseling for first responders; he also served two terms as Chair of the Anchorage Assembly, growing the police department, funding snow removal and infrastructure like roads and parks, and responding to the 2018 earthquake.
