Eva Diaz is a Democratic Arizona State Senator representing District 22, elected in 2022 via a write-in campaign after the sole ballot candidate withdrew. An Arizona native raised in Phoenix and residing in Tolleson since 1992, she is married with two children and co-owns Ni Hao Amigos Language Preschool in Avondale with her mother. A lifelong educator and community advocate, Diaz has championed public education through the Red for Ed movement and volunteered with Chicanos Por La Causa Community Center and her church's Children’s Ministry.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership from Arizona State University; served as an instructor there and at South Mountain Community College.
• Professional Experience: 27 years in education, including teaching in three elementary districts, Assistant Principal at Isaac Elementary School District, and Principal at Avondale Elementary School District.
• Political Experience: Chair of the Tolleson Planning Commission since 2013; Arizona State Senate since 2022, sponsoring bills on education, charter schools, online instruction, and more.
