Biography
Ethan Lawson is a Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives representing District 53, which includes portions of Hancock and Madison counties. A lifelong Hoosier from Greenfield, he assumed office on November 19, 2024, succeeding Bob Cherry after winning the 2024 general election with 70% of the vote. He is an attorney and works for the Indiana National Guard as Director of Communications; previously, he held communications roles in the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Auditor of State of Indiana. Lawson is vice chair of the Hancock County Republican Party, a member of the NRA and Indiana Farm Bureau , and with his wife Holly, is active at Otterbein Methodist Church. He serves on the Elections and Apportionment, Roads and Transportation, and Veterans Affairs and Public Safety committees, and has authored resolutions like congratulating the New Palestine High School football team on their 2025 state championship.
