Biography
Erin Zwiener is a Democratic state representative for Texas House District 45, which includes parts of Hays County such as Driftwood, Buda, Dripping Springs, Kyle, San Marcos, and surrounding areas. A fifth-generation Texan, conservationist, author, educator, and lawyer, she has served since 2019 and is currently in her fourth term. Notable achievements include being the only Texas House member with an environmental conservation background, founding and chairing the Texas Energy and Climate Caucus in 2021, and winning Jeopardy! three times. She serves as Vice-Chair of the House Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs, and is a member of committees on Natural Resources and Local & Consent Calendars. Zwiener is also a deputy whip for the Texas Democratic Caucus, treasurer for the Texas LGBTQ Caucus, and participates in caucuses on criminal justice reform, women’s health, water, and IT. She lives in Driftwood with her husband Quincy Kennedy, daughter Lark, and various animals.
