Erin Koegel (39A)

Erin Koegel is a Democratic-Farmer-Labor member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 39A . A lifelong Minnesota resident born in Duluth and raised in Maple Grove, she is married to Steve Koegel, with one daughter named Clara and a dog named Spud; the family resides in Spring Lake Park. She works as a volunteer coordinator and was first elected in 2016 , now serving her 5th term as of 2026. Notable achievements include her long tenure on transportation-related committees, where she has served as Chair of Sustainable Infrastructure Policy, Vice Chair of Transportation, and currently Co-Chair of both the Commerce Finance and Policy and Transportation Finance and Policy committees; she also sits on Ways and Means, and Rules and Legislative Administration.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from Osseo High School; B.A.S. in Psychology , University of Minnesota Duluth ; M.A.P.L., University of Minnesota Duluth .
• Political Experience: Served as a page for the Minnesota House of Representatives; elected to the House in 2016 , re-elected to District 39A ; active on transportation policy throughout her career, including recent elevation to co-chair roles in November 2025.
