Biography
Eric Wimberger is a Republican state senator representing Wisconsin's 2nd Senate District, which he has held since January 6, 2025. Born on April 2, 1979, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he resides in De Pere and previously represented the 30th Senate District from 2021 to 2025 following redistricting. A former U.S. Marine Corps Judge Advocate officer , attorney, and small business owner, he operates a family-run candy store in Lakewood and has worked diverse jobs including long-haul truck driver, bartender, and factory worker. Notable achievements include his military service, perseverance after an unsuccessful 2014 Assembly bid, and commitment to Northeast Wisconsin issues as a community advocate.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from East De Pere High School; earned a BA in Criminal Justice from St. Cloud State University ; Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School .
- Political Experience: Established a law practice in Green Bay post-military; first ran for Wisconsin State Assembly in 2014 ; elected to Wisconsin State Senate District 30 in 2020; re-elected and redistricted to District 2 in 2024, with term ending January 3, 2029.
