Biography
Eric Tilleman is a Republican member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 23 . Appointed in July 2024 to succeed Scot Kerns, he won a full term in November 2024 with 56% of the vote against Democrat Sandor Hopkins and Libertarian Kevin Leatherbarrow. A fourth-generation Montanan raised in Chinook, Tilleman has served as Cascade's volunteer fire chief and held leadership roles in agricultural education, including President of the National Association of Agricultural Educators . For the 2025 session, he serves on the State Administration, Education, and Agriculture committees.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a BS in Agricultural Education from Montana State University.
- Professional Experience: Taught agricultural education in Cascade for 16 years; since 2020, Agricultural Education Specialist in the Montana Office of Public Instruction.
- Political Experience: Ran for Montana House District 22 in 2014 ; appointed to District 23 in 2024 after topping the Republican primary; elected in 2024 general election.
