Biography
Eric J. Tarr is a Republican state senator representing District 4 in the West Virginia Senate, elected in 2018. Born on September 10, 1972, he is a small business owner and physical therapist with a Christian faith. He is married to Natalie Tarr and has three children; his parents are Larry and Brenda Tarr. Notable affiliations include the Putnam County Rotary Club, Putnam County Chamber of Commerce , and West Virginia Physical Therapy Association. He has served as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Resources and as Policy Advisor to the West Virginia Senate Health Chairman and Senate Majority Leader.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Bachelor of Health Science, MBA, Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Political Experience: Elected to the West Virginia Senate in 2018 . In the 2026 session, he led sponsorship of 19 bills, including SJR 2 , SB 33 , and SB 34 , many pending in Judiciary or other committees. Recent achievements include leading SB128 , signed by the Governor in 2025 RS.
