Enrique Sanchez is a Democratic representative for District 9 in Providence, Rhode Island, serving in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. Elected in November 2022, he was born on July 10, 1996, in Providence. He works as a case manager helping undocumented young people and is recognized as a Gen Z lawmaker.

• Political Experience: Serves on the House Corporations Committee and the House Special Legislation Committee. During his first term, cosponsored laws increasing notice for residential rent increases and expanding benefits for RI Works, a cash assistance program for low-income families. Sponsored bills for free school meals, overtime pay for health care workers on Sundays and holidays, improved technical/vocational training, opposition to neighborhood school closures, DCYF accountability, RIPTA driver recruitment, and increased LIHEAP participation.
