Biography
Elliot Forhan, a Democrat, is an American attorney and former Ohio state representative who represented Ohio House District 21 in Cuyahoga County during the 135th General Assembly . Born on November 16, 1985, in Athens, Ohio, he won election in 2022 with 73% of the vote but placed third in the 2024 Democratic primary with 12%. He announced his candidacy for Ohio Attorney General on February 27, 2025. Notable achievements include co-founding the Public Interest Patent Law Institute, introducing Ohio's pro-free-speech anti-SLAPP law, and endorsements from groups like Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio and the Ohio Federation of Teachers. He has been involved in controversies, including suing Statehouse leaders for defamation over allegations of abusive behavior, which he denies.
