Biography
Elda Luna-Nájera is a Democratic member of the Arizona House of Representatives, representing District 22 since March 1, 2024. She serves alongside Lupe Contreras, having been appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to succeed Leezah Sun. A social worker by profession, she manages social programs including mental health and foster care at the Agua Fria Union High School District since 2016, and she became president of the Tolleson Union High School District governing board by 2024.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a master's degree in social work from Arizona State University West campus and a doctorate in social work from the University of Southern California.
- Political Experience: Joined the Tolleson Union High School District governing board in September 2020; selected for the Arizona House in February 2024; intends to run for reelection.
