Biography
Eilish Collins Main is a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 146th District in Stamford. A first-generation Irish American and longtime Stamford resident, she assumed office on January 8, 2025, succeeding David Michel, and is only the second woman to hold the seat after Moira Lyons' 24-year tenure. She won election in 2024 with cross-endorsement from the Independent Party, defeating opponents in the Democratic primary and general election.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.A. in Government from Franklin & Marshall College.
- Professional Background: Businesswoman with over 30 years in EdTech management, marketing, and business development; working mother of three grown children.
- Political Experience: Appointed to Stamford's Personnel Commission prior to election; currently serves on the Higher Education & Employment Advancement, Commerce, and Transportation Committees, and the Reproductive Rights and AI Caucus.
- Notable Achievements and Priorities: Active volunteer in Stamford community organizations including Building One Community, Police Activities League ART program, and St. Francis Church outreach; focuses on affordability, housing solutions, college/career readiness, school funding, early childhood programs, and childcare.
