Biography
Edith J. Patterson is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 28 in Charles County since 2015. She previously served as a Charles County Commissioner , member of the Charles County Board of Education , and held roles in education including director of the Educational Talent Search Program at the College of Southern Maryland and counselor at Charles County Community College . Notable achievements include serving as chair of the Southern Maryland House Delegation , president of Women Legislators of Maryland , first vice-chair of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland , and recipient of the 2018 Public Service Excellence Award from the American Legion. She is a widow with three children and two grandchildren.
