Biography
James "Eddie" Lumsden is a Republican representative for Georgia House District 12, which includes all of Chattooga County and portions of Floyd County. A lifelong resident of Floyd County born on August 25, 1952, he is a U.S. Air Force/Air Guard veteran, retired Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper , small business owner in insurance and financial services, and active community leader. Notable achievements include serving as Chairman of the Floyd County Commission , appointment by Governor Perdue to the State Consumer Advisory Board , and current role as Chairman of the House Insurance Committee. He assumed office in the Georgia House on January 14, 2013, advanced through the 2024 Republican primary, and was on the general election ballot that November. He serves on multiple committees, including Appropriations, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Rules, Governmental Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, and Defense & Veterans Affairs.
