Eddie Charbonier Chinea

Eddie Charbonier Chinea is a Puerto Rican politician affiliated with the Partido Nuevo Progresista *. He serves as the Representative for *District 1 in the Puerto Rico House of Representatives, with his current term spanning 2025-2028.

Born on March 15, 1982, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Eddie Charbonier Chinea has focused his career on public service and community development. His early involvement in politics began at age 16, working in the House of Representatives and later as a youth advisor for San Juan Mayor Jorge Santini. He advanced through roles such as San Juan Youth President, Regional Youth Director, First Vice President of State Youth, and Regional Director of Young Republicans within the PNP. Elected in 2016, he has held various leadership positions, including Majority Whip, President of the Government Commission, and currently President of the Finance Commission , Capital City Development and Youth Affairs Commission, and the Joint Córdova y Fernós Congressional Internship Program Commission. Notable achievements include sponsoring Law 61-2018, the "New Adoption Law for Puerto Rico," which reduced children awaiting adoption from 345 to under 70 in three years.
