Senator Ed Price - Louisiana District 2

Edward Joseph "Ed" Price is a Democratic member of the Louisiana State Senate representing District 2.

Ed Price has built a career in public service focused on education and community development. He represents Ascension Parish and surrounding areas in Southeast Louisiana, with district offices located in Gonzales. His legislative work has concentrated on education policy, retirement systems, transportation, health and welfare, and environmental quality.

Political Experience

Price's public service spans several decades:

• 1985: Elected to the Ascension Parish School Board, where he served for 27 years and served as Board President for 12 years
• 2007: Elected President of the Louisiana School Board Association
• 2010: Named Louisiana School Board Association Member of the Year
• 2012: Elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 58
• 2012-2015: Named Vice-Chairman of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus
• 2015: Re-elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives
• 2016-2017: Named Vice-Chairman of the Louisiana Democratic Caucus
• 2017: Elected to the Louisiana State Senate representing District 2
• 2019: Re-elected to the Louisiana State Senate
