Ed DeLaney is a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 86 in Central Indiana, which includes portions of Marion County in Indianapolis. He has served since 2008 and currently holds positions as Assistant Democratic Caucus Chair , member of the Education Committee and Ways and Means Committee, and alternate on the Budget Committee. Notable achievements include chairing the Indiana Development Finance Authority under Governor Evan Bayh, a 30-year legal career at Barnes & Thornburg , representing the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in arbitration under the Dayton Peace Accords, and community service on the Indianapolis Police Merit Board and as president of the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Council. A retired lawyer and U.S. Navy officer, he is married to Ann McGovern, with three children: Kathleen, Jennifer, and Tim; he speaks Russian fluently and is a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish.
