Biography

W. Edward "Ed" Crockett is an American businessman and politician serving as an Independent State Representative for Maine House District 112, which covers parts of Falmouth and Portland in Cumberland County. He resides in Portland, is married to Martha, and has three children and one grandchild. Crockett was first elected as a Democrat in 2018 to District 43, reelected in 2020, redistricted to District 112 in 2022, and won reelection in 2024 for his fourth term. In 2025, he left the Democratic Party to run as an independent for Governor of Maine in the 2026 election. He serves on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee and Taxation Committee, and previously on the Joint Committee on Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement and Business. As president of Capt’n Eli's Soda since 2013, he is also an author of the memoir "Skid Row Survivors" about his father, Walter Crockett.
