Biography
Dustin Miller
Dustin Miller is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 40 in St. Landry Parish since January 2016. He serves as Chairman of the House Health and Welfare Committee and is the only nurse in the Louisiana Legislature.
Dustin Miller is a healthcare professional, business owner of Acadiana Practitioners Family Medical Clinics, and dedicated public servant. First elected in 2015, he was re-elected in 2023 with 81% of the vote. Notable positions include Chair of the House Health and Welfare Committee, member of the Atchafalaya Basin Program Oversight Committee, Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee, and Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay. He is also part of the Acadiana Delegation, Democratic Caucus, Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, and Louisiana Rural Caucus. Achievements include the Louisiana Nurse Practitioner Advocate Award from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, nomination for the State Award for Excellence, and Outstanding Representative Award from the Louisiana State Nurses Association. He earned an 88% Pro-Life Voting Record in 2023.
