Representative Duane Droge

Duane Droge is a Republican representing District 13 in the Kansas House of Representatives. He represents the counties of Greenwood, Wilson, Woodson, and Chase, as well as a portion of Lyon County.

Droge grew up on a farm and ranch in northern Kansas, where his family operated cropland, a cow/calf operation, and a feed lot. He has resided in Eureka for over 40 years and is married to Bobbie. Together they have three children—sons Toren and Jake and daughter Rachel—and seven grandchildren.

Education

Droge earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and continued his education at Kansas State University, where he received his *Doctor of Veterinary Medicine * degree.

Political Experience

Droge was appointed to District 13 following a Kansas Republican Committee meeting in January 2023, after the seat was vacated by Joe Newland's resignation. Newland left the position after being elected President of the Kansas Farm Bureau. Droge was sworn in on Monday, January 9, 2023.

Prior to his appointment, Droge had a long career in veterinary medicine, beginning in 1980. He owned and operated Droge Animal Health Center until his retirement five years prior to his legislative appointment. He currently serves on the House Committee on Health and Human Services.
