Biography
Doyle M. Heffley is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 122nd Legislative District, which encompasses all of Carbon County. A former consultant in the trucking industry and management professional overseeing over 100 employees since 1996, he prioritizes business-friendly policies, tax reduction, fiscal responsibility, government transparency, and addressing the opioid crisis, including fentanyl, mental health, and services for individuals with disabilities. He is an Eagle Scout, attends Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, and is involved in community groups like the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 314 and Indian Mountain Rod and Gun Club. Previously, he served on the Lower Towamensing Planning Commission and as committeeman and chairman of the Carbon County Republican Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Lehighton Area High School in 1989; earned an associate’s degree in architectural drafting and design from Lincoln Technical Institute.
- Political Experience: Ran unsuccessfully for the 122nd District in 2008 against incumbent Keith McCall. Elected in 2010 after McCall retired, and re-elected since, including most recently to serve Carbon County. For the 2023-2024 session, appointed by House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler as Chairman of the Human Services Committee, overseeing the Department of Human Services and Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
