Biography
Doug Steinhardt is a Republican state senator representing New Jersey's 23rd legislative district, serving since December 2022. Born on November 6, 1968, he is a conservative attorney and politician raised on a family farm in Warren County, where his parents still reside; he married Trudy in 1996, and they have two children: Tia, a graduate of Moravian College and Villanova serving as Vice President of Development for a national advertising firm, and Douglas Jr., a Jacksonville University student on a shooting scholarship and varsity team. Notable achievements include serving as the first five-term mayor of Lopatcong Township , Chairman of the Warren County Republican Committee , and Chairman of the New Jersey Republican State Committee , during which he led grassroots efforts registering 200,000 new GOP voters, achieving the largest Republican legislative gains in 28 years in 2019, and record turnout in 2020. He is pro-life, a lifetime NRA member, and advocates for family and parental rights.
