Biography
Doug McCrory is a Democratic State Senator representing Connecticut's 2nd Senate District, which includes parts of Hartford, Bloomfield, and Windsor. A longtime educator and community advocate from Hartford's Blue Hills neighborhood, he was elected in a special election in February 2017 after serving six terms in the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 7th District. He currently holds leadership roles including Deputy President Pro Tempore, Co-Chair of the Education Committee, and Vice-Chair of the Government Oversight and Public Health Committees.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a BA and Master's in Business Administration from the University of Hartford; Master's in Elementary Administration from Sacred Heart University.
- Professional Background: Over 20 years as an educator, including teacher at Sarah J. Rawson Elementary School, vice principal at Lewis Fox Middle School and Weaver High School; member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and co-founder of the Benjamin E. Mays Institute.
