Biography
Donna Marie McDowell White is a Republican representative for North Carolina House District 26, serving Johnston County since 2017. She is the first woman from Johnston County elected to this role and has secured multiple terms, including re-election for a third term. Notable achievements include co-chairing the Health Committee and Appropriations for Health and Human Services, vice-chairing Appropriations, and serving on committees like Education K-12, Environment, and Family, Children, and Aging Policy; she also holds bicameral roles on health oversight and participates in task forces on child fatality, aging, serious illness, falls prevention, cancer coordination, and minority health.
Education and Political Experience
White is a registered nurse and aging specialist by occupation. Her political experience includes election to the NC House in 2016 after extensive local service: 12 years on the Johnston County Board of Education, 15 years on the Clayton Planning Board, 13 years on the Clayton Board of Adjustment, and membership on the Johnston County Transit Advisory Board.
