Biography
Donna Mears is a Democrat representing House District 21 in the Alaska State House of Representatives, covering South Muldoon in East Anchorage from the Tudor/Muldoon Curve to Chanshtnu Muldoon Park, Nunaka Valley, Cheney Lake, and Baxter Bog. She has served since the 33rd Legislature , including the 34th Legislature, and was reelected in 2024. A civil and environmental engineer by occupation, she has lived in East Anchorage for 24 years with her husband, working as an engineer, community advocate, and parent.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Rutgers University ; University of Michigan .
Political Experience: Elected Alaska State Representative for District 21 . Served on boards including Solid Waste Association of North America – Alaska Chapter, Northeast Community Council Executive Board, Municipality of Anchorage Health and Human Services Commission, MOA Stormwater Utility Commission, MOA Solid Waste and Recycling Advisory Commission, and MOA On-Site Water and Wastewater Technical Review Board. Notable focus: Representing East Anchorage and building Alaska through engineering and community advocacy.
