Biography
Donna Campbell is a Republican state senator representing Texas Senate District 25, which covers all of Blanco, Comal, and Kendall counties, as well as parts of Bexar, Guadalupe, Hays, and Travis counties in the Texas Hill Country, including portions of the Austin and San Antonio metro areas. Elected in 2012 as one of the few women in Texas Senate history, she has served continuously since 2013, most recently re-elected in 2024 with 63.62% of the vote. A board-certified emergency room physician and ophthalmologist from New Braunfels, aged approximately 70, she is a mother of four daughters and prioritizes legislation on grid resilience, health care, and conservative issues. Notable achievements include top honors from the National Rifle Association, Texas Alliance for Life, Texas Values, and Texas Veterans Commission; recognition as a Top Courageous Conservative by the Texas Conservative Coalition; and designation as a Fighter for Free Enterprise by the Texas Association of Business.
