Representative Donald H. Wong

District: 9th Essex, Massachusetts
Donald H. Wong was born on January 15, 1952, and is a resident of Saugus, Massachusetts. He is married to Jeannie Wong. Beyond his legislative work, Wong is a businessman and restaurant owner, as well as the owner and teacher of Nam Pai Academy of Martial Arts. He has also served as Chair of the Adopt-A-School Program.
Education
Wong attended Belmont High School.
Political Experience
Wong has served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 9th Essex district since 2011, currently in his 8th term. Prior to his state house service, he was Chair of the Saugus Board of Selectmen from 2007 to 2011 and a member of Saugus Town Meeting from 2005 to 2007.
Within the state legislature, Wong holds several ranking minority positions, including Ranking Minority Member of the Joint Committee on Labor and Workforce Development, the Joint Committee on Racial Equity, Civil Rights, and Inclusion, the Joint Committee on Rules, and the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development. He also serves as Ranking Minority Member of the Rules Committee.
Wong has been a member of various legislative committees throughout his tenure, including the Financial Services Committee, Ways and Means Committee, Joint Municipalities and Regional Government Committee, and the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies.
