Donald McFarlane

Donald McFarlane is a state representative for New Hampshire's Grafton 18 district, having won his 2024 election with 52% of the vote. He is a long-time resident of Orange, New Hampshire, where he has lived since 2008.
McFarlane was born in the United Kingdom and grew up splitting time between the UK and the USA. He became a permanent resident of the United States in 1995 after completing his studies and military service, and achieved his goal of becoming a U.S. citizen in 2002. He is married to Karen and has a six-year-old son named Cameron.
Education and Professional Experience
McFarlane holds a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering. He has received specialized training in information security, risk management, and incident and emergency management.
Professionally, McFarlane works as an information security expert with nearly three decades of experience in leadership roles. He is also a dedicated public servant, having volunteered as an EMT and served as an EMS chief for a decade.
Political and Community Positions
Beyond his role as state representative, McFarlane serves his community by sitting on the planning board and budget committee in Orange. He entered politics motivated by ensuring New Hampshire remains a place where families can live, learn, and thrive for generations to come.
