Biography
Don L. Ipson is a Republican state senator representing District 29 in the Utah State Senate, serving since 2017 after appointment in 2016. A longtime St. George resident and businessman, he founded DATS Trucking Inc. and Ernie's Too! fried chicken restaurants, previously serving as president of the Utah Trucking Association and Southern Utah Trucking Association, and chair of the Utah College of Applied Technology. Notable achievements include chairing the Transportation and Infrastructure Appropriations Subcommittee, focusing on tax code reform, small business support, first responders, and veterans; he also held roles like Majority Assistant Whip in the Utah House and serves on committees such as Senate Transportation, Public Utilities, Energy, and Technology.
