Biography
Donald P. DeWitte is a Republican State Senator representing the 33rd District in Illinois, which spans Kane, McHenry, and DuPage Counties. He has served since his appointment in September 2018. Notable positions include Minority Spokesperson for the Senate Transportation and Senate Revenue Committees, member of the Appropriations, Education, Environment & Conservation, Labor, and State Government Committees, and the bipartisan Joint Commission on Administrative Rules . He previously served as Assistant Republican Leader , Mayor of St. Charles , St. Charles Alderman , and Kane County representative on the Regional Transportation Authority Board . He is an Edgar Fellow from the University of Illinois School of Government. DeWitte and his wife, Diane, have been married over 35 years and have two adult children; he resides in St. Charles.
