Biography

Don Davis was born and raised in Snow Hill, North Carolina. As a young man, he worked in tobacco fields and attended the same church where he currently serves as a minister. Davis has dedicated his life to public service across multiple sectors, including military, education, and government.

Education

Davis graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1994 with a BS in Social Sciences. He later earned an MS in Administration from Central Michigan University and an MA in Sociology from East Carolina University.

Political Experience

Military Service: Davis served as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force for eight years. As a First Lieutenant, he coordinated Air Force One and Congressional delegation operations at Andrews Air Force Base and served as a mortuary officer supporting military families.

Local Government: At age 29, Davis became the youngest Mayor of Snow Hill, serving seven years in that role while rebuilding the local economy and investing in infrastructure.

State Senate: Elected in 2008, Davis served 12 years in the North Carolina State Senate representing District 5, championing rural communities by expanding high-speed internet, raising teacher pay, securing tax exemptions for military pensions, and delivering over $215 million for the ECU Brody School of Medicine.

U.S. House: Davis was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022 and is currently serving his second term. He serves on the Agriculture Committee and Armed Services Committee, where he holds the position of Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Commodity Markets, Digital Assets, and Rural Development.

Education Career: Prior to entering politics, Davis worked as an assistant professor of Aerospace Studies at East Carolina University's Air Force ROTC Detachment 600, where he taught for over 20 years and mentored thousands of students in national security affairs, military history, and leadership.
