Biography

Dominique Johnson is a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, affiliated with the Democratic Party, Working Families Party, and Independent Party. She represents the 143rd district, encompassing portions of Norwalk and Westport, and has served since 2022. Raised in the Midwest, she learned the value of hard work and community service from her family. Johnson lives in Norwalk's Cranbury neighborhood with her partner Billie, their rescue dog Rey, and cat Scooter. She is a member of the state legislature's LGBTQ+ caucus, which she co-chairs.

Notable achievements include serving as Deputy Majority Leader and Co-Chair of the Screening Committee. She serves on committees including Judiciary, Government Administration and Elections, Environment, Education, Higher Education & Employment Advancement. Key legislative accomplishments: championing the Early Literacy Fund for childhood literacy, creating the Green Jobs Corps for clean energy jobs, and protecting seniors' quality of life.
