Didi Barrett is a Democratic Assemblymember representing District 106 in the New York State Assembly, covering parts of Dutchess and Columbia Counties in the Hudson Valley. Born on September 17, 1950, she has been a longtime resident of the Hudson Valley for nearly 30 years and was first elected in a special election in spring 2012, followed by re-elections in 2012, 2014, 2016, and subsequent terms. Prior to politics, she worked as a community activist, writer, and leader of not-for-profit organizations. Her legislative focus includes improving quality of life for families and businesses, advocating for patients with Lyme and tick-borne diseases, protecting watersheds and farmland, supporting veterans and agriculture, and championing women's issues.
