Biography
Dick Lowe is a Republican member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, representing District 56 . Elected in November 2020, he assumed office on November 18, 2020, after a brief retirement from education, and was reelected in subsequent cycles, including as a candidate in the 2024 general election. A lifelong advocate for agriculture and education, Lowe operates a family farm specializing in competitive show lambs and has deep FFA roots as a national proficiency winner, with his three sons also pursuing agricultural careers. He and his wife, Judy, have been married over 40 years, are parents to three sons, grandparents to four, and active members of First Baptist Church in Amber. Notable positions include Chair of the House Common Education Committee, member of the Appropriations & Budget Subcommittee on Education, Education Oversight Committee, and Energy Committee, and Assistant Majority Whip.
Education and Political Experience
Lowe graduated from Ninnekah High School, earned a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Oklahoma State University–Stillwater, and a Master of Arts in educational leadership and administration from Southern Nazarene University. For over a decade until 2020, he served as an agricultural instructor at Canadian Valley Technology Center, advancing career and technical education; he previously held roles as state president of Oklahoma Career and Technology Education and on its National Board of Directors. In the legislature, Lowe prioritizes strengthening Oklahoma's education system, authoring bills like House Bill 3032 and supporting measures on screen time limits, teacher recognition, and Indian Education Council extensions. He previously served as vice chair of the House A&B Education Committee.
