Biography
Diane Wheatley is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 43 since January 2021. Born on April 12, 1951, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, she resides in Linden, North Carolina, is married to Alfred Wheatley since 1973, and has three children. Now retired, Wheatley has a strong record of public service in Cumberland County and has won re-election twice, most recently with nearly 58% of the vote.
Notable achievements include chairing the Cumberland County Board of Education , serving on the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners , and legislative work such as securing $2.5 million for Fayetteville beautification, opposing a name change for Fayetteville State University, and co-sponsoring the Opportunity Scholarship expansion. She currently chairs the House Committee on Pensions and Retirement.
