R. Dewith Carrier is a Republican serving as the Louisiana State Representative for District 32, representing parts of Allen Parish, Beauregard Parish, Calcasieu Parish, and Jefferson Davis Parish. He was first elected in 2019 with 64.3% of the vote and re-elected unopposed in 2023, assuming office on January 13, 2020, and January 8, 2023. Prior to politics, he was self-employed, and his hometown is Oberlin, Louisiana. Notable positions include committees on Appropriations, Natural Resources and Environment, Retirement, and the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget; he also serves as Vice Chair of the Louisiana Rural Caucus and is part of the Acadiana Delegation, Central Louisiana Delegation Caucus, and Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation.
