Biography

Senator Devlin Robinson

Devlin J. Robinson is a Republican State Senator representing Pennsylvania's 37th Senatorial District, which includes parts of Allegheny County. He was first elected in November 2020, defeating Democratic incumbent Pam Iovino, and was reelected in November 2024.

Robinson was raised in Brookline, a neighborhood in Pittsburgh's south end, and currently resides in Bridgeville. He comes from a family with a four-generation tradition of military service. Following his graduation from Central Catholic High School in 2001, he joined the United States Marine Corps on a delayed entry program, entering service approximately one month after the September 11 attacks.

Education and Military Service

Robinson served in the Marine Corps as an Infantry Rifleman in the 2nd Battalion 8th Marine Regiment, completing three combat tours—one in Afghanistan and two in Iraq. His military awards include two Combat Action Ribbons, a Presidential Unit Citation, and a Navy Unit Commendation. He was discharged in 2005.

Following his military service, Robinson pursued higher education while building his career. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and an *Master of Business Administration * from the University of Pittsburgh.

Political Experience and Achievements

Before his election to the state senate, Robinson founded Veterans Medical Technology, a company specializing in medical equipment leasing. He has also worked as a laborer and assistant winemaker.

As State Senator, Robinson currently serves as Chair of the Labor and Industry Committee and Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations, Banking and Insurance, Community Economic and Recreational Development, Institutional Sustainability and Innovation, and Law and Justice committees.

Robinson's legislative priorities include lowering and reforming tax codes, assisting and honoring veterans and first responders, supporting small businesses, and enhancing manufacturing and labor opportunities. He has had ten bills signed into law, including legislation in November 2025 to improve early literacy rates in Pennsylvania. He also championed legislation in 2024 creating an Urban Search and Rescue Task Force in western Pennsylvania and played a key role in opposing and stopping PennDOT's bridge tolling plan.
