Derrin R. Owens is a Republican politician serving as Utah State Senator for District 27, which covers parts of Garfield, Juab, Kane, Millard, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, Utah, Washington, and Wayne counties. Born on April 7 in Show Low, his pioneer ancestors helped settle Juab and Millard counties, and the family later moved to eastern Arizona. He is married to Heather, with four sons and one daughter; two sons serve in the US military, and he is a grandfather. Previously, he represented House District 58 starting in 2015 after appointment by Governor Herbert.
