Derrick McCollum is a Republican representative for Georgia House District 30, serving since 2022. A fifth-generation Georgian born in Hall County Hospital and raised in north Georgia, he is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served on the front lines in Desert Storm. He worked as a firefighter and EMT for 17 years in Hall County and 2 years in Habersham County, and owns small businesses including a self-service car wash, rental properties, and a payment solutions company. He serves as Majority Deputy Whip and on the Transportation , Natural Resources & Environment, and Defense & Veterans Affairs committees. McCollum champions conservative principles like limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, small business growth, and traditional family values. He resides in Chestnut Mountain with his wife Gina, five children, and four grandchildren, and is active in the Braselton Rotary Club.
