Biography
Derrick Hildebrant is a Republican representative for Oklahoma House District 23, which includes parts of Rogers, Tulsa, and Wagoner counties. Born in January 1980, he resides in Catoosa with his wife and their seven children; they are active members of Journey Bible Church. A retired Air Force veteran with 25 years in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, he reached the rank of Chief Master Sergeant as Senior Enlisted Leader for the 138th Mission Support Group. He is also a pastor since 2014, an FAA-certified private pilot, and a USAT triathlete.
Notable achievements include authoring the *Protect Our Kids Act *, signed into law to enhance school employee misconduct reporting and protect students. His policy focuses are tax policy, infrastructure development, and strengthening families.
Education and Political Experience
- Military and Early Service: 25 years in Oklahoma Air National Guard, retiring in 2024; Catoosa City Councilor , managing a $23 million budget and revitalizing Historic Route 66.
- State Legislature: Elected to Oklahoma House in 2024, defeating primary opponent with 72% of the vote to succeed term-limited Terry O'Donnell. Serves as vice chair of the Veterans and Military Affairs Committee; appointed to Appropriations and Budget Select Agencies Subcommittee, General Government Committee, and Health and Human Services Oversight Committee.
